What is AOD-9604?
AOD-9604 is a modified fragment of human growth hormone. Full-length growth hormone is a chain of 191 amino acids; AOD-9604 takes only residues 177 to 191 from the far (C-terminal) end of that chain and adds a single tyrosine at the start, giving a peptide of 16 residues.

That makes it a different thing from HGH itself, not a smaller dose of it: roughly a twelfth of the length, made by chemical synthesis rather than in cells, and supplied by weight in milligrams rather than in International Units. It is often mentioned alongside "HGH Fragment 176–191", which describes the same stretch of the hormone; the tyrosine is what sets AOD-9604 apart.
Where it sits by length
At 16 residues, AOD-9604 is a mid-length chain, comfortably within peptide territory. The boundary is a convention, not a rule of chemistry — chains up to roughly fifty residues are generally called peptides.
What this page does not cover
Nothing here describes what AOD-9604 does, what it is used for, or whether it is safe. We publish analytical results and ship parcels; we give no guidance on dosing, preparation or use, and that applies to our reference pages as much as to the product pages. The person to ask about any of that is a registered prescriber.
